Can my Frank Green reusable cup/water bottle be recycled?

Celeste and I were discussing this the other day so I thought I would look into it and share with you.

I went to the source at Frank Green themselves and here's what they had to say:

At the end of its life, your frank green (which is made from BPA free & FDA/EU approved materials) is fully recyclable!

This is subject to recycling options/programs available in your area, as certain materials are not considered recyclable in some regions. We've put together a complete breakdown of the materials. See below for the list provided by Frank Green.

So before discarding your old reusable, we'd strongly recommend contacting your local council/government to confirm recyclability.

Alternatively, you may wish to consider repurposing the base! Below are some of Frank Green's suggestions:

    • Spare cup/bottle
    • Food storage
    • Vase
    • Pot plant
    • Toothbrush/pen holder
    • Donate to a second-hand store

What are my Frank Green products made of?

    Ceramic range

The Frank Green ceramic range is made from a ceramic inner layer and stainless steel outer. It is triple-walled and vacuum insulated.

     Inner Lining = Ceramic
     Layer One = Stainless Steel
     Layer Two = Stainless Steel
Outer Coating  = Acrylic Acid & Amino Resin

Original cup, bottle and tap to pay range

The original range is made from Tritan for the base inner and TPE (Thermo Plastic Elastomer) for the base outer. Both products are fully recyclable at end of life, and in just 15 uses you will have offset the impact of making them. Win-win!

I have lost the ring from my cup. Can I get another ring? Or must I buy another cup?
