Unfortunately, this glorious time of year often brings sniffles, scratchy throats and chesty coughs. Despite this, I enjoy winter - I am my happiest in a beanie, scarf, cosy jumper and boots!
But annoyingly, almost every year around this time I catch a cold. Usually it comes home via Charlie from school, but being out and about a lot means encountering plenty of germs. So here are the goodies I swear by to help get me through!
This little beauty starts with a buttery base of Shea and Coconut Oil, with a potent blend of pure essential oils added. It can aid congestion, stuffiness, inflammation and improve breathing. This formulation is created by a pharmacist and contains no petrol or turpentine oil. There is also a baby version for kids here.
You can choose from Lemon Myrtle & Ginger or Lavender & Jasmine scented packs, but either way, this comforting heat pack from Salus will help to sooth your aches and pains, and provide relief to your weary muscles.
This will protect your dry lips (from sleeping with your mouth open!) and also help prevent a dry, flaky nose from blowing it 89065431 times a day. Honestly, it's a miracle product, and you need one of these tubes of goodness every day of the year, not just when you're sick. Promise.
Everyone loves a different blend of tea, but there's no denying it; a hot cuppa always makes us feel a bit better. The Lemongrass & Ginger, Immunity and Respiratory blends are ideal at this time of year.
Turkey tail mushroom is incredibly good for building immunity and can help in fighting off illness. A couple of drops in a drink every day can be incredibly helpful.
The perfect blend of essential oils to help soothe and clear sore sinuses. TIP: use a gua sha to help massage your sinuses and clear them out, too. This is incredibly helpful and helps ease that awful sinus pain, too.
Super soft and made from 100% organic cotton, the Last Object Reusable Tissues can be washed and used 100s of times, which is good for your nose, the environment and your hip pocket! The silicone case can be sanitised by popping it in the dishwasher.
To try and avoid the next lot of germs that come your way!! This is our favourite, and it's incredibly effective without drying out hands. Kids love the spray application, too.
I hope these little tips help you to feel a bit better this winter! Do you have any other natural remedies to share? Please post your top tips below.
