  • What is slugging - and should I try it?

What is slugging - and should I try it?

Have you heard of the new beauty craze taking the world by storm?!

It's called 'slugging' (sounds gross, right?) and it refers to applying a layer of barrier cream as the final step of your nightly skincare routine to help seal in the active ingredients you've used, and help them do their thing!

Beauty expert Leigh Campbell spoke about slugging in a recent episode of her popular podcast, You Beauty, and revealed that her favourite product for slugging is our very own Weleda Skin Food!

We agree with Leigh on this one, and think it's ideal to use a natural product for slugging, as opposed to a barrier cream like Vaseline, made from petroleum byproducts.

Why is Weleda Skin Food so good for slugging?

Packed full of 100% natural ingredients like nourishing lanolin, soothing chamomile, rosemary and sweet almond oil, it is seriously effective at deeply hydrating the skin. Due to its serious efficacy, the Skin Food formula has remained unchanged since 1926!

    Here's an extra tip

We suggest sleeping with a towel over your pillow, or slugging the night before you wash your sheets, because you'll find some of the extra product may transfer onto your pillow case. We also advise that you complete your nightly skincare routine and then apply your Weleda Skin Food about an hour before bedtime, to help minimise any product transfer.

Also - this beauty treatment should ideally be performed once or twice per week.

Have you tried slugging? We'd love to hear your thoughts below!
