During Melbourne's many lockdowns, designer and illustrator Alice Oehr endeavoured to gather over 200 recipes from friends and colleagues - an ode to a similar project completed by Alice's class of grade 2 in 1996. This book brings together an array of recipes for sweets, savouries and drinks, and reflects the colourful variety within Australian home-cooking.
Dishes featured include family favourites, party specialties, and weeknight 'go-to' dinners. Many were transcribed from the scrawl of grandmothers, dictated verbally, and some were even (previously) a secret.
Contributors include Lucy Folk, Beci Orpin, Pip Lincoln, Matt Skinner and so many more!
220 fully illustrated pages, spiral bound and printed on recycled paper.
Letter-pressed covers in four eye-popping colours, expertly printed by the wonderful people at Hungry Workshop, also on recycled card (the green are made from coffee cups).
Published in March 2023.
I loved the styling of this cookbook, but the recipes are incredible. I brought it home and my husband cooked from it the next night - a delicious pearl couscous with roast vegetables. It was delicious! I can tell we'll use this a lot.
