As you know, at Natural Supply Co we only stock products that are cruelty free. We're passionate about this issue and we've written about it before here.
There's never an excuse for cruelty
Animal testing for cosmetics (read: our vanity) is never ok. Apart from the fact that testing on animals is cruel, it's also unnecessary. And we should know - because we have tested out the hundreds of products in our store and we know that they work, despite the fact that they have not been tested in labs, on animals.
As Celeste always says, "our products don't need to be tested on animals because they don't contain hundreds of chemicals that may cause issues for our skin and bodies".
So why is it that businesses and Governments still allow animal testing for cosmetics?
Well, testing cosmetics on animals has already been banned in the UK, the EU, India, Israel, Norway and New Zealand.
But in Australia, businesses are still allowed to import cosmetics tested on animals - even though we know that such procedures are painful, cruel and unnecessary.
By allowing these products to be sold in our country we are effectively supporting the animal testing of cosmetics.
One of the key reasons that we started Natural Supply Co was because we wanted to provide a cruelty-free option for customers to buy all of their household and beauty goods. It's something that we know our customers are very passionate about.
Join us then in signing this petition for cruelty-free cosmetics in Australia
Natural Supply Co is proudly supporting the Choose Cruelty Free (CCF), Humane Research Australia (HRA) and Animals Australia petition.
We are asking members of the public and our customers to join us in petitioning the Australian Government to implement a ban on the sale of all cosmetics that are tested on animals.
There has been overwhelming support for this petition, with over 23,000 signatures already collected. However, we need your help to reach 100,000 signatures.

Who is the petition to and what is it trying to achieve?
Under section 81(1) of the Industrial Chemicals (Notification and Assessment) Act 1989 (Cth) (“the Act”), the Minister for Health and Ageing has the power to determine the standards for cosmetics imported into, or manufactured in, Australia.
The petition requests that a standard be introduced under section 81 of the Act stating that no cosmetic shall be imported into, or manufactured in, Australia if the final product or its ingredients have been tested on animals.
The current Minister for Health is The Hon. Sussan Ley MP. so the petition will be sent to her with our plea for changes.
